God in school?

Last week Isaac and I were talking about regular school and homeschool. I told Isaac that in regular school teachers are not allowed to teach about Jesus or pray. Isaac was flabbergasted. He said, "That's not right!" He couldn't believe that someone would not be able to talk about Jesus freely in school or pray. It was neat to watch his expressions while we talked about it and to see how shocked he was.
We start school everyday with prayer and a Bible reading before anything else as Jesus is our reason for living and He gives us life. We then do the Pledge of Allegience before we kick off the rest of school.
It is really funny though that almost everyday at about 9am when we are to start school, I hear quiet footsteps walk by the office door and an outside door quietly open. I call to Isaac and ask where he is going and in a quiet voice he answers, "To play in the chapel?". He has been trying to sneak by me for about a month now and has succeeded a couple of times but his playtime doesn't last too long before I realize where he is and he is called back into the house. Poor kid! :)
Emma enjoyed doing school for about 5 minutes the first day and then she was done with it except for writing time. She does enjoy sitting down to practice her letters and numbers but only if it lasts no more than 10 minutes. She does do the Bible reading and Bible verse with us and the pledge and recording of the weather and temperature but she can't take too much more at this age. She does pop off with answers now and again when I am asking Isaac something so I guess she is paying attention at times when I think she is not.

Hi Becky-
I just found your blog via Kathy. How fun! She said you posted some pics on Facebook that I needed to check out. I am not on Facebook but I am going to have to do it soon. I'll be checking back for home school encouragement.
